Is Blogging For You?
You might have been playing with idea of creating a blog for a while now. Hopefully this post will give you some answers to your questions and be the impetus you need to get cracking.
What is a blog
Blogs are essentially websites that are updated regularly with content. Bloggers write the content. Much of the time, blogs are about a specific topic like parenting, finance, fashion, etc.
Blogging has been around for over a decade now and it’s still going strong. There are many different types of bloggers out there: some who want to earn money, others who just want to make friends and share their opinions, and those who like to share their expertise in a certain area.
There are also some people who blog anonymously online. They use blogging as a way to get their voice heard without being judged by their peers or employers.
Could I be a Blogger?
If you have an interest in something, if you feel passionately about something or just want to share your thoughts, then YES blogging is for you.
You don’t have to have a background in journalism or writing. Blogging is about putting your thoughts into words. Every blog has a different voice. Some are formal and factual and others are very informal, more like talking to a close friend. Only you will now what “voice” you want your blog to have. But there is a market for everything.
What would I blog about?
There are blogs about everything!! Honestly, think of the most random thing you can and there will probably be a blog somewhere out there about it. The best thing to blog about is something you are interested in. Only a real cheese lover could blog about cheese and real car enthusiast about car engines.
Is now a good time to start a blog?
Now is the best time! You’re here reading this blog so you’ve already taken the first step. Many of us can keep procrastinating and putting up barriers – work is too busy, I’ll get started in the New Year, I don’t think I’d be a good blogger! Stop putting obstacles in your way. Get started today, you won’t regret it. In a year’s time you’ll be glad you started today.
